HSA Limits Set for 2012
The Internal Revenue Service released the 2012 contribution limits for health savings accounts. For 2012, taxpayers with individual-only coverage will be able to contribute up to $3,100. Taxpayers with family coverage will be able to contribute up to $6,250 to a health savings account. This represents an increase of $50 for individual HSA plans and $100 for family plans over the 2011 contribution limits.

Arizona's Tax Amnesty Program to Begin September 1
Arizona will be offering a tax amnesty covering tax obligations from the years 2004 through 2009. The amnesty will run for one month only. The Arizona program will cover more than just income taxes. Any tax collected by the state other than property taxes and estate taxes would be eligible.

IRS Web site now offers RSS Feed
You can now stay automatically abreast of news releases published by the Internal Revenue Service by subscribing to the agency's RSS feed. The feed pulls articles posted to the IRS News Releases page.

Warning about a New Email Scam Circulating
Jean Murray shares a fraudulent email she received purporting to come from the National Electronic Payments Association, the group that administers direct deposit and electronic banking transactions. This fake email has a dangerous file attached to the email. Murray points out that the National Electronic Payments Association does not contact people about specific electronic banking transactions.
