From Adam Milton, your Guide to Day Trading

This week's day trading newsletter discusses whether the saying "Sell in May, and go away" has any validity, and provides some charts showing that sometimes (such as this year) it does.

The newsletter includes:

- the discussion and charts for selling in May and going away,
- the definition of LEAPS,
- and the weekly economic calendar with volatility expectations.

Good trading :-)

Sell In May ...

One often heard saying regarding the financial markets is "Sell in May, and go away", which recommends that long trades (or buy and hold investments) are exited (or sold) in May of each year. The second half of the saying is sometimes "Stay away for September, but come back in November", which recommends that no further trades (or investments) are made until November. Whether the saying has any validity at all is very much up for discussion, but this year at least ... find out whether you should sell in May or not

Leap Into Options Trading

LEAPS or Long Term Equity Anticipation Securities, are long term options that last anywhere from one to three years before they expire. LEAPS are available on stock indexes (such as the S&P500 in the US, or the FTSE100 in Europe), and on individual stocks. LEAPS are identical to regular (short term) options, with the exception that they can be held for up to three years ... learn about LEAPS

Economic Calendar With Volatility Expectations

There are several news releases from the US this week, and many news releases from Europe and Asia. There are three high volatility news releases from the US, nine high volatility news releases from Europe, and eleven high volatility news releases from Asia. Markets from all three regions will probably experience medium (US) to high (Europe and Asia) volatility and average (US) to significant (Europe and Asia) price movement throughout this week ... find out which news releases will affect your trading
